You will regret updating the exterior for what is likely to be a one that will date quickly and be higher maintenance . It is only a matter of time until such homes are as treasured as Victorian terraces or Californian bungalows. It is an icon of its time. Accept it for what t is. Why make your house look like a fashion victim of 2019, when it stands in almost the full glory of its original period? It will also save you a fortune too! But yes, minimise the concrete! and add a garden that refects the period the house was built. Roses if you like them, with maybe a magnolia or crepe myrtle feature tree but for lower maintenance try some architectural and ground covering succulents. You could also go with edibles like feature citrus and olives for a Mediterranean feel.

Hi Mandi, just remove the plan showing the address and re scan without it . I've been playing around with your house and just wanted to make a few possible suggestions, as you will see my scratchings are not pretty and with no dimensions just for ideas. I was thinking to just extend the length of the whole house and as MB suggested keeping all the bedrooms together and making the Master a bit bigger. I have swapped a few rooms around. don't know what your house is built with but apparently you have a beautiful ceiling in the living room plus a fire place. it would be good if at times that room could be opened up into the family kitchen area with large full height cavity sliders,at the moment I have suggested having a large opening into the passage but feel you would get better use by having a larger opening to the family with a smaller door into the passage. You could add a door at the opening into the family room to close off the bedrooms. I have moved the kitchen and laundry and added a walk in Pantry. You could add some linen storage into the passage but I kind of like the wide part. Hope you don't mind, adding a couple of photos for you cheers

Hi all as an update, we now own the unit (subject to settlement) and have been in with a builder. The discrepancy in the original kitchen measurements is that the floorplan has been incorrectly drawn. Attached is my update, as you can see the kitchen wall is not flush with the adjoining wall, hence the difference in width. Now we do really need ideas!!!! We are thinking about a kitchen like this too with similar flooring.
