what window treatments for tilt in & sideopening kommerling windows
Comments (2)With tilt and turn windows I can only think of two options, either face mounted shutters to the actual window, which the fabricator might offer, or a rod hung on the face of wall above the window opening, to avoid the window catching on them. A track sheer or drape will work aesthetically, but practically?? Presuming when the windows open, so too would the curtain, it only matters at the end of day when you want to close up and have privacy, so perhaps a holland blind (pull down) so it's least conspicuous....See MoreWindow Treatments
Comments (7)I would suggest a neutral based solar film that can offer the best in both reasonable privacy without effecting the natural view that you would normally get with clear glass (as opposed to the coloured films and glass tinted versions )whilst offing excellent fade protection and some glare reduction from off the water and improved glass insulation & glass safety . As a business dealing with these films , I've used this particular range of American made PROTEK films over 30 years for situations such as your selves with very good feed back from customers . In the evening, you will likely have blinds down for privacy so I don't think it matters so much. Function before aesthetic. Having said that, speak to a few blind companies and find out the best way to install (inside window frame or outside) so that the look from outside is seamless when blinds are down. I'm thinking if installed just a bit beyond the frame width, no gaps at sides of blinds will show....See MoreKate
