Walk in Wardrobe or Built in Wardrobe for bigger space?
Comments (9)Personally, I'd prefer a WIR as opposed to a large "wall" of cupboards. I like the ability to open a single door and see all my clothes, rather than opening and closing multiple doors for various bits and pieces (e.g. pants in one cupboard, shirts in another). I think the WIR would be cheaper as nice cabinetry for the second option could be expensive. And I think the WIR would be better for resale value. Also, it's just a personal opinion, but the example photo reminds me of a gym locker room. A nice gym locker room, but that's the impression I have from all the cupboards with the bench in the "middle"....See MorePOLL: How many indoor plants would you put in your bedroom?
Comments (20)I used to have a Peace Lily, Philodendron, Succulent garden, a couple of ferns, Devil's Ivy and some grass plants in my bedroom. I currently don't have a bedroom that would support those kind of plants so I've cut back on them. I am planning on building a house that is specifically designed for plants (and lighting) in mind. They're so good for the bedroom, I would try to avoid pollen dispersing flowers though. My favourites are grasses, broadleaved plants, Succulents, bonsai for apartments, even small "indoor trees" (palms, ficus) if you have the space. Not only are there so many health benefits, but think about how you'll feel waking up every morning surrounded by nature and life. There are numerous studies about how much we benefit from being in nature, so there's no downside there. If you are getting bugs, you must be severely unfortunate. I've personally never had more than the occasional fly that one of my dogs let in. Unless, like others said, you rotate your plants outside....See Morewhere would you put wardrobe?
Comments (12)I am going to disagree with everyone else. Go with the red. Reasons: It will block bathroom noises. Additionally I am going to suggest that at the same time, you move the door to the room in to square the room with the outside of the new wardrobe. Also, while you are doing the reno, (and enough cash hopefully) make the wardrobe about 600mm smaller in length to create a new hallway cupboard for extra broom or storage space. Additional to that, remove those two half walls over by the window area and place the bed on the wall opposite the lounge. The entire lounge wall is then freed up, to create a lovely area for play. You could create a built in desk, toy store and even a climbing wall or some other adventure space if you were so inclined. By getting rid of those two walls, you will be astounded by just how big that room really is. I can see it being a wonderful guest room too, in years to come....See Morewardrobe interior help - advice on Bunnings wardrobe
Comments (10)Go to some local op shops or bye swap etc, look for 1 or 2 units of draws that will fit in snug as a bug, paint it up as to what you like, Wack some wheels on it to pull on and out . You can have both, plenty of hand and draws. The Bunnings cube things are ok, but ……. Draws. As for 50cm? Put a hose clamp at the 50 so that will stop you from pushing cloths that far in and just leave the space for air. The other thing maybe take the doors completely off and hang some nice curtains esp while this rain is about.my floor to ceiling curtains. I took the doors off....See MoreKate
