Comments (28)Your design scheme has a very traditional European feel. I would continue with this and look at a couple of Louis chairs. The link I've attached shows one with a mix of rattan with an upholstered seat cushion. You can also get them with an upholstered back and arms. However I quite like the rattan for contrast so it's not too matchy matchy with your sofas. http://www.canalside.com.au/productimage.php?product_id=115&current_image=1 You could then add a scatter cushion to the chair. Have you thought about also adding a couple of scatters cushions to each sofa, in a silk or silk like fabric. Check out Kaz's Samara range. Not sure what colour to recommend as I can't see your wall colour clearly but black goes with most colours. Oskuee's rugs are lovely, just make sure the colour ties in with your colour scheme. As you have plenty of dark timber in the room already, consider a glass and metal coffee table and lamp tables in a gold finish. Gorgeous crystal or mirrored table lamps and an ornate gold framed mirror over either the chairs or the sofa to finish off the room....See MoreOpen plan space dilemma
Comments (33)I would move couch away from wall and place lamp in between it and wall, I'd then move dining table a bit back towards wall. I'd put a table behind couch. I don't think you'd need a chair in corner of you did this. need Need photos of the right hand side of room to see if this works....See MoreKitchen Splashback Dilemma
Comments (33)Thanks, Julie. I really do hope that after all the worrying and running around getting our minimal house reno right the first time that everything falls in the right place and look good (or great!) in the end. And hope I do remember to post some post-reno pics after all this. Dreamer, thanks for your feedback. We’re on the same page with regards to the pendants and the artwork. The artwork is the first thing on show as soon as one enters the door then, as they make their way to the living area, they’ll walk past the pendant lights in the kitchen so, same eye candy at opposite ends of the room. I try tying them all in throughout somehow except for the splashback which is completely the odd one out. So, really just need to get the splashback right....See Morelittlethommo2 .
