Fridge or Pantry? Honey
Comments (12)I keep all spreads in a plastic tub next to the toaster even the butter is next to the toaster in a butter dish, I found myself way too frustrated walking individual spreads to the fridge all day long. I thought there has to be a better way. So far the only things that spoil are home made marmalade, although that could be because no one else in the house eats marmalade and it sits there forever...See MoreFridge or Pantry? Vegemite
Comments (22)I've kept mine in the pantry and regardless of the used by date, I'll keep spreading that vegemite as long as the jar lasts. But then, I'm well south of the tropics so it may just not matter...See MoreFridge or Pantry? Potatoes
Comments (9)I agree with Janet – chilling uncooked potatoes does them no favours at all plus they often turn a rather unappetising dirty grey colour which means that you will tend to keep them in the fridge for a few days and then throw them out anyway! If you have an extra prepared potato (ie one that has been peeled and/or cut) don't let it sit around chilled or unchilled – cook it anyway with the rest of the spuds and then you can keep the cooked (boiled, roasted, mashed, whatever) potato to use in any number of ways for tomorrow's breakfast or lunch or as a snack (potato salad, potato cakes, potato gratin... ) or even (if you have an odd aversion to using up left-overs) chop it into the dog's dinner or the chooks' scraps......See MoreHouzz Eatz Week 3 - Can of tomatoes challenge!

I do cheat though..I buy Turkish bread from Bakers delight slice into half and uses that as the base ..just make the sauce and then it's done.....See MoreBarbara Dunstan
